With the increasing use of interventional and invasive diagnostic methods to treat cardiovascular diseases, it is important to be aware of the types and incidence of potential complications associated with these procedures. According to medical literature, the incidence of pseudoaneurysms ranges from 0.1 to 6%2 and up to 0.5 to 9% depending on the diagnostic or therapeutic procedure performed3. However, the number of upper limb pseudoaneurysms is signifi cantly lower than those that affect the lower limbs (less than 2% of all lesions) 4. There are only a few reports of axillary aneurysms caused by trauma with shoulder dislocations or gunshot injuries. The objective of this paper is to illustrate a potential complication associated with interventional procedures and also indicate diagnosis and treatment options.

Durability of the Viabahn stent graft after axillary artery pseudoaneurysm exclusion
Pseudoaneurysm formation caused by iatrogenic arterial injury during a regional anesthetic block is a rare complication. We report a case of a 56-year-old male patient who developed an axillary artery pseudoaneurysm caused by brachial plexus block performed for an upper extremity dialysis access operation. Successful repair of this pseudoaneurysm was achieved with endovascular stent graft exclu...
متن کاملTraumatic axillary artery pseudoaneurysm treated with intravascular balloon occlusion and percutaneous thrombin injection.
Axillary artery pseudoaneurysms are relatively rare, with few reported cases found in the literature. Furthermore, treatment with percutaneous thrombin injection has not yet been reported. We report the case of a 59-year-old man with a large (10 cm) post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the left axillary artery found five weeks after a motorcycle crash. The patient sustained multiple injuries, inclu...
متن کاملAn unusual presentation of traumatic pseudoaneurysm of axillary artery mimicking soft tissue tumor
Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the axillary artery is a rare sequela of injury to shoulder region. We report here a unique case of delayed presentation of axillary artery pseudoaneurysm after a blunt injury, clinically mimicking soft tissue tumor without evidence of gross bony injury. The gentleman presented after six months of injury with a progressively growing mass in left axillary region and n...

AIM Brief case report of the treatment of a large axillary artery pseudoaneurysm after a pacemaker using a left brachial cutdown and a retrograde delivery of a covered stent using ultrasound and fluoroscopic guidance. The patient's renal function precluded the use of contrast materials. CASE REPORT A 77 years old man presenting with acute renal failure and haemoglobin decrease arrived with an...
متن کاملTraumatic Supratrochlear Artery Pseudoaneurysm With Spontaneous Resolution
Background: Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supratrochlear artery is a rare lesion. It manifests, as a painless mass, in the frontal region following trauma. The unusual incidence and confusing presentation require the clinicians to thoroughly understand its presentation and diagnosis. Diagnosis is typically made on history and physical examination, but it can be confirmed by duplex ultraso...
